Daniel came to Southport, from other sports including rugby league, through the AFLQ Talent Search program. Drafted by Brisbane Lions in the 2002 AFL draft, he played 200 AFL games and was awarded a Player Life Membership. After announcing his retirement from AFL in 2016, he went on to become Assistant Coach of Brisbane’s AFLW team and played for Coorparoo Kings and Caloundra Panthers.
